Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, contact us and we will add it.
Where are my files stored?
File contents are stored in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket. Nothing in the bucket is publicly accessible; every download uses a short-lived, signed URL issued only after R2Cloud has checked that you are allowed to open that file.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 5 GB of storage, share links with expiry dates, and one workspace with up to three members. No card is required to sign up.
What happens if I downgrade and have more files than the new plan allows?
Nothing is deleted. Your files stay where they are and remain downloadable. Uploads are paused until you free up space or move back to a larger plan, and the app shows exactly how far over the limit you are.
Do files in the trash count toward my storage?
Yes. Trashed files still occupy space in storage, so they count toward your quota until they are permanently deleted. The trash empties itself automatically after 30 days, or you can empty it at any time.
How large can a single file be?
It depends on your plan: 2 GB on Free, 5 GB on Starter, 20 GB on Pro and 50 GB on Business. Large files are uploaded in parts directly from your browser to storage, so interrupted uploads can be retried.
What if I forget my password?
R2Cloud does not send email, so there is no automatic reset link. Contact support from the login page; an administrator verifies it is you and sets a temporary password, which you change after signing in.
Can I protect a share link with a password?
Password-protected links are included on Starter, Pro and Business. Every link can also have an expiry date, a download limit, and can be revoked at any time.
How do business workspaces work?
A workspace is a shared space with its own storage quota and subscription. Members have one of four roles: owner, administrator, editor or viewer. Files belong to the workspace, so nothing disappears when a team member leaves.
Which payment methods and currencies are supported?
Payments are processed by Stripe. Plans are priced in Australian dollars; Stripe handles cards and the payment methods available in your region. You can update your payment method and download invoices from the billing portal.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancelling keeps your paid storage until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. Your files are never deleted because of a cancellation.
How do I delete my account?
From Account settings → Security → Delete account. Confirm with your password and the deletion happens immediately: your personal files, folders, share links and memberships are removed.
